THE JOYFUL INTERRUPTER: END OF 2020
Wezmore friends and readers, this will be our last newzletter of 2020. In a year of unimaginable ups and downs, uncertainty, and instability, we hope this small publication brought you a bit of good news and joy when you needed it most. Thank you for joining us for these bi-weekly reads; We can’t wait to get back to sharing news with you in 2021!
There are exciting things to look forward to next year including something we’re working on now: Wezmore curriculum for schools! Updates coming soon, but we can say that we'll be providing a FREE semester to all teachers and parents for the upcoming year.
In the meantime, The Wezmore Team wishes you a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season. We’ll be back with more goodness and goofiness in 2021.
WEZMOMENT
This year’s final Wezmoment goes to a fifth grade friend and artist who colored an awesome page about Wezmore’s message. As we go into a new year that brims with potential, let’s be reminded to believe in ourselves, to love at every step, and that life is full of adventure.
LOCAL NEWS
Good news for you!
Today we have some especially good news: The Do Good Podcast hosted by Rob Watson did an episode with our very own Eddie Coker! Rob has been intentionally making a positive impact for nearly 15 years, and this podcast is his most recent way to help do some good. In the episode, Rob and Eddie talk about our children and how to help them develop skills to reach higher levels of self-confidence and happiness in life. Rob said he was interested to learn about the work Wezmore does with families and educators to teach children about emotional wholeness and intelligence. Listen to the 57th episode of the Do Good podcast here.
MENTAL HEALTH BREAK
Take some time to focus on your mind
Take a moment to congratulate yourself for making it through an extremely difficult year. Thank your mind, body, and spirit for carrying you through, and sit in the realization that you are more resilient than you were at the start of 2020. This year, we focused on mindfulness, gratitude, and breathing deeply to keep us centered and anchored despite the raging waves of breaking news. As we move into the full-swing of the holiday season and close out the year, keep these practices close and remind yourself to breathe deeply when you are overwhelmed, take pause during the day to appreciate all you have, and focus your energy on the things that bring you joy.
