Why? Let’s look at the numbers:
Approximately 157,000 youth between the ages of 10 and 24 receive medical care for self-inflicted injuries at emergency departments across the U.S.
According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, suicide is the second leading cause of death for youth between ages of 10 and 24 and it results in approximately 4600 lives lost each year.
17% of American students report being bullied 2 to 3 times a month or more within a school semester. This number climbs to 43% in the teen years, in the form of cyberbullying.
It's estimated that 1 out of 4 elementary-school bullies will have a criminal record by age 30.
Fast-paced competition has been blamed for symptoms of “burnout” in kids as young as age 10 or 11.
We’ve cracked the code
In order to help address and solve these issues that kids face today, we’ve teamed up with some great partners and local artists all around the nation to help encourage happy, healthy human interaction in school and at home.
AND THE BEST PART? IT’S ALL BACKED BY SCIENCE.
Our continuing collaboration with The Center on Research and Evaluation (CORE) at Southern Methodist University allows us to stay up to date on what the best practices are to make a difference in the lives of young students.
